The only difference between Autometer's 2286 and 2287 are the compression fittings that come with it.
You can also use a 1/2" NPT male to 1/8" NPT female adapter fitting and run just about any of Autometer's electric sending units in this tee. The manifold block measures 2" x 2" x 1.25" and has two 1/4" fastener holes for mounting.
- 2287 comes with two 1/4" NPT male to 5/16" compression fittings
- 2286 comes with two 1/4" NPT male to 3/8" compression fittings
People usually ditch the compression fittings and use AN fittings instead. The side port is 1/2" NPT. This was designed for the Autometer 2273 tapered seat capillary tube nut that comes with Autometer's mechanical oil, transmission, and water temperature gauges.
The blue tube nut on the tubing must push the probe against the 2273 adapter fitting. That is how the probe seals correctly.
