I've been in the off road and automotive industry my entire life. I was born into the industry. My father owned and operated a VW shop from 1972-1990. He built and raced Baja’s, buggies and VW drag cars. I work with and consult international off-road race teams for global races such as the Dakar Rally, Silk Way Rally and the Tatts Finke Desert Race in Australia. My hobbies and interests are my kids and studying American History. I obtained a Bachelor's degree from Cal State San Bernardino in American Studies in 2004.

I was born into a VW family, taking long vacations in a VW Westfalia with my folks, brother and sister. That transferred easily into off-road racing, with my dad taking us to races in Mexico, Arizona, and the California desert when I was still in elementary school. Working in the garage with my dad on family automobiles gave me a love of cars and how they work.

My first official job was at Scalzo's Auto Parts in San Clemente where I sold parts and helped the owners prep their Class 12 and Class 1 race cars.

One of my duties was to work on electrical issues, which is where I initially learned how to wire race cars and how to fix the types of electrical issues that occur during and after a race. After Scalzo’s, I worked at McKenzie's Performance Products for 11 years where I continued to learn about the off-road industry, while continuing to wire off-road race cars from Class 9 cars to Class 1 cars. I specialize in VW beam race cars, wiring, plumbing, and suspension setups, which I learned about while building my Class 5 Unlimited pre-runner.

Here's a photo of my old Baja. Roll cage was fabricated by Jon at Castle Fabrication. 1962 Class 5 Street Legal Baja Bug prerunner

I come from a desert racing family. I started going to the desert and to races as a young child. I started racing as a co-rider in a stock mini truck in the MDR series when I was 13 years old. I drove my 1st race at 15 and have been hooked ever since. I have an automotive background as well, being a diesel mechanic and a service writer. I was also involved in pit support for desert racing for many years with FAIR and was a board member for a number of years. My main background is Jeeps and desert racing as I ran Jeepspeed in their unlimited class for a few years. I look forward to growing with this sport and working with the amazing people in this sport of Offroad racing.

Originally an Arizona native where I spent most of my life wide open in the desert. Most of my childhood I raced motocross. I always looked up to the offroad world knowing it was where I wanted to be, so when I got my first truck, it all went downhill from there. Currently I'm building a GMC Sierra on the weekends and expanding my knowledge weekdays here at Kartek. I aspire to assist in the Offroad community; whether it's a few lug nuts or a full build, I'm here to get you what you need.
