The 5282 kit allows interior mounting of this fuel pressure gauge without the danger of routing a line containing dangerous gasoline into the driving compartment. This is accomplished by plumbing the isolator between the fuel pressure source and the gauge. When pressurized, the fuel presses against a diaphragm inside the isolator, which uses a fluid (50/50 mixture of water and antifreeze) to pressurize the gauge.
