Fits all bugs up through 1971 and all buses through 1979 except for autostick / automatic stick / semi-automatic models. 1972 to 1979 beetles and super beetles used a slightly different shaped lock-out plate part number 111-711-149-B.
The 211-711-149 also works on aftermarket shifters such as EMPI's t-handle shifter, but does not work on EMPI or Hurst Performance trigger shifters because their reverse lock-out plate is welded to the bottom of the shifter.
