Description
EMPI's heavy duty type 1 CV star. EMPI created this oversized, extra thick, CV joint star to prevent you from breaking the star. Combined with their 5/8" diameter CV joint balls, it makes a GKN Stock German 113-501-331 or EMPI 87-9916-0 CV joint extremely loose, giving you EMPI's version of a race prep CV joint.
Note: GKN Stock German 113-501-331 and EMPI 87-9916-0 CV joints have 0.687" (17.5mm) diameter CV joint balls. The 16-2609-0 star is too large to run with the stock CV joint balls. You will also have to purchase 16-2624-0 CV balls to compensate for this.
This star is for standard 33 spline axle shafts. If you're having issues getting the appropriate 1/4" to 3/8" axle free play at full droop, we can counterbore the CV star any depth up to 1/4". We charge per star. Orders must be in before 12:00 Noon PST for same day shipping. Cut CV joint stars are NOT REFUNDABLE!
