EMPI 00-8544-0 Engine Crankcase Breather Box Kit Includes Box, Hose, And Fittings For Valve Covers

EMPI's cast aluminum breather box comes with hose, valve cover barbed fittings, and an internal mesh screen shelf to elevate the foam filter element. On older breather boxes, the entire box had foam which would get saturated with oil. Having the mesh shelf prevents the foam from getting quickly soaked with oil.

The box has 3 vent inlets allowing you to run hoses to each valve cover and from the oil filler neck on the alternator stand. You will have to drill your valve covers for 5/8" holes for the barbed fittings included in this kit.

If you remove the barbed fittings that come with EMPI's kit, the three holes on the breather box are 5/8". Customers will often purchase fuel cell bulkhead fittings (sold separately) because they're shallow. If you use AN #8, you would drill out the three holes to 3/4". Using AN #8 fittings allows you to retain 1/2" hoses.
