King And Link Pin Front Beam End Plate 2.00 Inch Top Tube 2.00 Inch Bottom Tube Parallel Arm Spacing

This 1/4" thick front VW beam end plate is made from 4130 chromoly steel and has a taller spacing than the standard VW front beams. The hole diameters are 2" x 2" with 5-1/4" arm spacing. This is used to fabricate your own torsion leaf or coil over front axle beam. Standard beams are made using 2" x 0.120" wall tubing.

• OEM = 34"
• +2" wider = 36"
• +4" wider = 38"
• +6" wider = 40"
• +8" wider = 42"
• +10" wider = 44"
• +12" wider = 46"

On an OEM king and link pin front axle beam, the spacing was +/- 4-3/4" on center. The OEM link was +/- 5-1/4" on center and Foddrill's King pins are +/- 5-3/8" on center. Because of this height difference, as the trailing arms traveled from full droop to full compression, the caster on the OEM link / king pin would change. To help solve this issue, we started making taller end plates / taller axle beams to make the upper arm parallel to the lower arm. Making the beam's spacing closer to the the spindle's spacing, makes the link / king pin's caster stay relatively straight through the wheel travel.

Customer's still using the factory frame head on their baja bug would purchase the factory height end plates. Customer's planning to build a tube chassis buggy or fabricate tubing from their roll cage to their front axle beam on a baja bug, would purchase the taller parallel arm spacing end plates.
