Foddrill's first generation spindles were fully welded together. The bearing housing, 3 bolt backing plate, and the spindle snout were 3 separate pieces. Occasionally serious offroad racers would break the spindle snout close to where it was welded to the backing plate.
Foddrill solved that issue with their second generation billet spindle by machining the 3 bolt backing plate and spindle snout out of one piece of billet chromoly material. At that point the bearing housing, tie rod arm, and heim joint cup were still welded together.
Now on their third generation of spindle, the spindle snout, backing plate, AND the bearing housing are all machined out from one piece of chromoly!! The snout has 1° of negative camber already machined into it. Foddrill even took the time to machine the heim joint cup out of one piece of material on their new spindles.
You also get the second generation king pin that's stepped on top, eliminating the upper snap ring. Another improvement Foddrill did, is both the upper and lower zerk fittings are countersunk into the king pin. On the old first generation king pin, the upper zerk fitting was exposed and could easily be knocked off by rocks or other debris.

Other Information:
- Use either a FK HRSMXL10T or HRSMX10T heim joint with the 113DSP spacer for your outer tie rod ends
- Use a 5/8" x 3-1/2" bolt for the above heim joint. A 5/8" AN spec washer fits into the bottom of the heim joint cup
- Use 28mm (1-1/8") outside diameter link pin bushings. You can use 18mm inside diameter bushings for 5/8" link pins or 7/8" inside diameter bushings for 7/8" link pins. Normally customers buying these spindles are using them for a professional offroad racing buggy and they purchase shims, bushings and link pins for 7/8"
- Make sure when you press in the link pin bushings, that you face the hole on the bushings towards your zerk fittings. There is a upper and lower zerk fitting for you to grease the link pin bushings. There's a third zerk fitting on the backside of the king pin bearing carrier for you to grease those two bearings
- Use 18mm-1.5 thread VW clamp style spindle nuts and 18mm spindle nut thrust washers that have the tooth
- Use 3/8"-16 COARSE thread bolts for the three backing plate bolts that hold on your caliper mounting bracket
- Heim joints, bolts, nuts, washers, spindle nuts, wheel bearings, link pin shims, link pin bushings, and link pins are NOT included.
