Product Information:

This adapter kit allows you to use a GPS antenna instead of a hall effect sender. For example the mechanical 5291 or 5292 hall effect senders use a cable to drive the sender that sends an electronic signal to the speedometer.

The above 5289 interface module kit comes from Autometer pre calibrated for a 16000 PPM (Pulses Per Mile) speedometer. Autometer electric speedometers also have a 16000 PPM calibration from the factory. If you are using a new Autometer electric speedometer, no calibration is necessary. If you're using this adapter kit with a used speedometer that was calibrated for something else, you can recalibrate it.

The Autometer GPS speedometer interface outputs a 12 volt square wave that is compatible with every electronic speedometer that Autometer tested. While their testing is extensive, there is always a possibility that certain speedometers from other manufacturers may not function properly.

The included 5283 omnidirectional 10HZ GPS antenna has a 16 foot cable. It can be placed inside or outside of the vehicle. The antenna is waterproof and can be painted. Common mounting places are the roof or the dashboard. If using any other GPS device, keep the antennas at opposite ends of the vehicle for best results. Closely mounted antennas can increase the time it takes to acquire a signal.
