Peterson's filter housing includes a pleated stainless steel cleanable pre fuel filter or oil filter. Their filters are available with either a 09-0487 non bypass block off plate or a 09-0488 spring-loaded bypass valve. The block off plate forces all fluid through the filter media. The bypass valve allows fluid to circumnavigate the filter media in the event that it gets overly clogged or an unusual spike in pressure.
Peterson color codes their filters to make it easier for you to identify. Purple top and silver bottom is a 100 micron filter.
