This insert fits into the 234-00-334 and 234-00-335 billet aluminum adapters. Each of the three pieces are sold separately. The billet aluminum 3 piece assembly is an ADAPTER that allows you to run a 3" inside diameter upper spring and a 3.75" diameter lower spring. You must use Fox's 234-00-166 or 234-00-307 bottom spring perch adapters.
With 3-3/4" bottom springs, there's more to choose from for spring rates but also you'll notice you can compress a 3-3/4" ID spring further than a 3" ID spring. For example 1600.300.400 compresses down to 6.61 inches. A 1600.375.400 compresses down to 6.26 inches.
That extra 3/8" before coil bind on your shock might not seem like much, but remember that if you have your shocks mounted midways up your rear arm, that 3/8" at the shock could be several inches at the end of the arm depending on how your suspension is setup.
Similar to AGM's FSA-2537, the Fox assembly works as a torsion release bearing. As the springs are compressed, they twist like a screw. This is called a torsional load. The divider assembly allows your springs to freely twist as they expand and contract on your shock.
Fox takes a 234-00-035-A spring divider and machines the top portion of it to fit into their 234-00-335 aluminum adapter. The heat causes the plastic to warp. It can still be squished into the 234-00-335 by hand without any issue. If you have a lathe, and think you can do a better job, you can order the 234-00-035-A and machine it yourself.
