Description
Empty aluminum end cap for 2-1/2" ALUMINUM reservoirs. Uses 038-01-052 wire clip and one 029-03-226-A o-ring. The bottom side has two 1/4" holes for a spanner wrench so you can hold the cap while threading in the fitting for your hose. It is threaded for AN -10 (7/8"-14 thread) o-ring boss fittings. It's also the cap Fox uses on their 2.5" piggyback bypass shocks.
Note: When Fox switched from steel reservoirs to aluminum on their 2-1/2" shocks, all of the internal parts were also changed because the aluminum reservoir has a smaller inside diameter than the steel reservoir. This end cap is too small in diameter to work on an steel reservoir and also this cap uses a wire clip whereas the steel reservoir used an actual snap ring retainer.
Normally, but not always, the Factory series shocks used #10 ORB hoses and fittings and the Performance series shocks used #8 ORB hoses and fittings. If you're looking for the #8 ORB cap, that is part number 226-00-090
