The safety hairpin on top is factory installed by FireFox Industries to help you when installing the pull cable. AFTER you install your cable, you'll remove that hairpin because the cable stops the puncture pin inside from dropping down into the bottle.
The outlet port on the side is 1/8" NPT pipe thread. The cable hole is for a 3/8" (0.350") housing.
