Description

Fox makes two different nine hole pistons for a 2-1/2" shock:

222-01-291-1 (dash one) is 2.214" outside diameter
222-01-291 is 2.271" outside diameter

The 222-01-291-1 is for an aluminum body shock because the cylinder wall is thicker and therefor has a smaller inside diameter. The 222-01-291 is larger in diameter because it's for a steel body shock that has a thinner wall cylinder.

Both of these pistons:

Are 0.730" thick
Use a 3/8" tall wear band
Are for a 1/2" stem
Use 029-18-033 o-ring underneath the wear band
Have three dimples drilled partially through for bleed holes
