Description
This press-fit retainer was usually found on Fox Performance Series shocks before Fox switched over to the 10-24 allen plug. If you have the style of shock that you fill with a long needle tool (see photo), then inside the shock body, at the very top of the body, you'll see this retainer.
People would thread a wood screw into the bottom of the retainer and use a slide hammer to pull it out of the shock body. Pressing it back into the shock body is way more work.
Fox also used this retainer inside reservoir end caps on UTV shocks.
