For example California Vehicle Code § 38346 prohibits displaying a flashing or steady running red or blue warning light on an off-highway motor vehicle. Blue and red lights mimic law enforcement and emergency vehicles, which can cause confusion. That's why many Californian racing associations require green. The Australian Off Road Racing Association (AORRA) and other sanctioned offroad racing events across Australia, typically require a blue strobing light.
