I've been in the off road/automotive industry my entire life. I was born into the industry. My father owned and operated a VW shop from 1972-1990 and built and raced Baja’s and buggies and VW drag cars. I work with and consult International off-road race teams for Global races such as the Dakar Rally and Finke Desert Race in Australia. My hobbies and interests are my kids and studying American History. I obtained a Bachelor's degree from Cal State San Bernardino in American Studies in 2004.

Favorite quote: "If you only do what you can do, you'll never be better than what you are."

I previously worked for Pacific Customs Unlimited for 14 years building Fox and King Shocks, selling parts, and building their website. Now I'm super proud to say I'm part of the Kartek team as their web developer. I built and launched their current website September 1, 2015. I'm very knowledgeable when it comes to dune buggies, baja bugs, Manx, and sand rails. I have no prior experience in the off-road race industry, but with the team at Kartek helping me out, I'm eager to learn more.

I grew up in the back seat of various 4x4's. My dad owned and could shift a CJ7 into 4low before he knew how to walk. After building up my first Jeep at 15 years old, I spent all of my free time on the trails of beautiful Southern California. Currently, I work at Kartek Off-Road by day and an Off-Road driving instructor on the weekends. Most say I have a GPS built in my head for the trails in the San Bernardino National Forest and I enjoy tackling the toughest trails I can find.
Not only an avid 4wheeler, but I'm also a talented fabricator and mechanic. If I'm not 4wheeling then I'm most certainly found in the shop working on either mine or someone else's project. Today, I can be found piloting a 1989 XJ equipped with 5" of lift, 35" Falken WildPeaks wrapped around Raceline Beadlocks. Aussie Lockers, and a trusty Warn M8000 that has seen 10 years of trail use and has graced the bumpers of 7 different Jeeps.

Recently I acquired a 2015 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x that will be built up and trail ready soon.

I was born into a VW family, taking long vacations in a VW Westfalia with my folks and brother and sister. That transferred easily into off-road racing, with my dad taking us to races in Mexico, Arizona, and the California desert when I was still in elementary school. Working in the garage with my dad on family automobiles gave me a love of cars and how they work.
My first official job was at Scalzo’s Auto Parts in San Clemente where I sold parts and helped the owners prep their Class 12 and Class 1 racecars. One of my duties was to work on electrical issues, which is where I initially learned how to wire racecars and how to fix the types of electrical issues that occur during and after a race. After Scalzo’s, I worked at McKenzie's Performance Products for 11 years where I continued to learn about the off-road industry, while continuing to wire off-road racecars from Class 9 cars to Class 1 cars. I specialize in VW beam racecars, wiring, plumbing, and suspension setups, which I learned about while building my Class 5 Unlimited pre-runner.
